In her new ‘Until Now,’ Carrie Newcomer calls all of us to sing for our lives and our communities.

We are delighted to welcome back to the show Carrie Newcomer. She is discussing her recent book of poetry and new album, both of which are titled Until Now. In our conversations, Newcomer talks about her creative process, and about what life has been like as a touring musician in a pandemic.

On new album “Until Now,” folk singer Carrie Newcomer addresses big questions for society’s work in progress. The album’s first single, “A Long Way Up,” refers to the pandemic as “the great unraveling.” In conversation, Indiana native Newcomer describes the comeback as “in process.”

Christians for Social Action recently interviewed Carrie Newcomer about the intersection of music and justice, contemplative spirituality, and her new project with author Parker Palmer. Her new CD and companion book of poems, Until Now, explores the process of unraveling and reweaving the threads of our lives and the possibility of transformation after crisis.
