My True Name

1998 - Philo

My True Name was Carrie’s fourth release on Rounder Records, created after two years on the road with her own band. This album blends the personal and the spiritual, retaining a connection to pop and acoustic music, but takes on a strong roots-rock sensibility, and a tasty slice of country.

Carrie's song “I Should’ve Known Better,” later covered on Nickel Creek's Grammy Winning This Side, first appeared on this album.
