The Center for Courage & Renewal

Carrie will be donating 10% of her new CD album sales during her 2010 "Before and After" Tour to a special scholarship fund for The Center for Courage & Renewal. Since 1997, the Center for Courage & Renewal has helped foster personal and professional renewal through retreats that offer the time and space to reflect on life and work. These retreats, called Courage to Teach®, Courage to Lead®, or Circles of Trust®, are led by skilled facilitators and make use of poetry and stories, solitude, reflection, and deep listening to help individuals do the inner work that clarifies and strengthens the integrity and purpose of their outer lives. Developed with author, educator, and activist Parker J. Palmer, PhD, and the Fetzer Institute, this approach was initially created to renew, sustain, and inspire public school teachers. Educators remain at the heart of their mission, but retreats are also offered to those in serving in a variety of professions such as health care, clergy, and law, as well as to anyone yearning to become more wholehearted in their life and work. The Center for Courage & Renewal offers short and ongoing retreats in many areas of the country. When you buy CDs at Carrie's concerts a portion will be contributed to special scholarships which the Center has created to minimize financial barriers to participation.
