Carrie Newcomer plans tour

Wednesday, January 9, 2008 – Carrie Newcomer will kick off an extensive U.S. tour in late January support of her upcoming release, "The Geography of Light," out Feb. 12 on Rounder. The tour will take the singer/songwriter throughout the U.S. and include stops in New York, Philadelphia, Berkeley, Chicago, Houston and Indianapolis. Newcomer will donate 10% of the profits from the tour sales of her new album to the American Friends Service Committee.

"The Geography of Light" is Newcomer's 11th release on Rounder. The disc combines piano, violin, mandolin, cello, bass, percussion and harmony vocal textures with Newcomer's guitar work and vocals.
